India, June 24 -- India is preparing for the impact of a weak monsoon as El Nino conditions continue to affect rainfall across the country. Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that monsoon rainfall is currently around 43 percent below normal and that 315 districts have been identified as vulnerable. Out of these, 111 districts have been marked as high priority because they have very limited irrigation facilities. To reduce the impact on farmers, the Centre has prepared districtwise contingency plans and directed states to speed up preparedness measures. Here is everything you need to know.
