India, May 25 -- The Central government on Monday increased Ebola surveillance and reviewed the country's preparedness as the outbreak in Central Africa continued to grow, raising global concern. Union Health Minister J P Nadda chaired a high-level meeting with senior officials and asked authorities to keep screening, tracking and testing systems on high alert. At the same time, the government has also clarified that no Ebola case has been detected so far in India.

Nadda also instructed the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) and the National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) to ensure that surveillance, testing and monitoring systems remain fully prepared at all times.
