India, Sept. 19 -- Delhi University has entered the decisive phase of its Students' Union election as officials begin counting votes for the four central DUSU posts on Saturday, September 19. The contest has drawn attention not only because of the battle between major student organisations but also because of heightened security, traffic restrictions and a Delhi High Court order banning victory processions after the results.

Counting began at 8 am at the Multipurpose Hall of the University Sports Stadium in North Campus. More than 2,000 police and paramilitary personnel have been deployed across the university as authorities prepare for the declaration of results and possible gatherings by candidates and supporters.
