India, Sept. 20 -- Delhi's public transport infrastructure remained under pressure on Friday as the strike by contractual drivers operating Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) buses entered its fourth day on September 19, leaving thousands of buses off the roads and commuters scrambling for alternative modes of transport. The protest, led by the DTC Karmachari Ekta Union, is centred on wages and service conditions.

The drivers are seeking a daily wage of Rs 2,000, along with medical facilities, social-security benefits, annual bonus, payment for government holidays, leave and other employment-related benefits.
