India, Aug. 4 -- Senior Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) leader Udhayanidhi Stalin was detained on Tuesday after a complaint was filed over his alleged obscene remarks involving actor Trisha Krishnan during a political rally in Tamil Nadu. The incident has drawn widespread attention after it triggered reactions from opposition parties.

The controversy began during a DMK-led demonstration in Thanjavur over the ongoing Cauvery water dispute where Udhayanidhi was addressing party workers. A complaint was later lodged by a functionary of the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), leading to a police case.
