India, June 24 -- Veteran Irish actor Des Nealon, whose career in theatre, film and television stretched across more than six decades, has died at the age of 90. According to reports, Nealon passed away at a hospice on Sunday, June 21. The cause of his death has not been disclosed.

The unfortunate news was announced by the Abbey Theatre where Nealon spent over 60 years as one of its most familiar faces. Paying tribute to the actor, the theatre shared a message that read, "The Abbey Theatre is saddened to hear of the death of actor Des Nealon this week, a true gentlemen, gentle and generous in nature to all around him and ferociously good fun."
