India, Sept. 29 -- Dennis Haskins, the American actor who became a familiar face to an entire generation as Principal Richard Belding in Saved by the Bell, has died at the age of 75. His agent confirmed his death to ABC News, with his longtime representative Jay Schachter describing it as "a tragic loss." Haskins was known for his warm relationship with fans and continued to make appearances connected to the show throughout his career.

A tribute from Dimples, a Burbank karaoke bar that Haskins regularly visited, said the actor had become ill around eight years ago and had chosen not to make his health struggles public. The establishment also remembered him fondly following his death.
