India, July 19 -- The southwest monsoon is expected to become active once again from July 20, bringing widespread rainfall to Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana and several other northern states. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued weather alerts for multiple regions as fresh weather systems are likely to trigger heavy rain over the coming days. According to the IMD, monsoon activity is expected to increase due to the formation of a fresh low-pressure area over the Bay of Bengal, stronger monsoon winds and the northward movement of the monsoon trough. The combination of these weather systems is likely to bring widespread rainfall across North India after several weeks of relatively weak monsoon activity.
