India, July 7 -- The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued red and orange alerts for several parts of Delhi as intense monsoon activity is expected to bring heavy rainfall, thunderstorms, lightning and strong winds over the next five days. Rain lashed the national capital on Tuesday afternoon, providing much-needed relief from the humid conditions while prompting authorities to warn residents about possible weather-related disruptions.
