India, July 8 -- Heavy rain lashed several parts of Delhi-NCR on Tuesday, bringing the biggest rainfall spell of the season and providing much needed relief from the humid weather. According to weather officials, parts of the city recorded around 84 mm of rainfall, making it the rainiest day of the year so far. The heavy rain also pushed humidity levels close to 100% in many areas. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a two day Yellow Alert and predicted more rain, thunderstorms and gusty winds over the next four days. The showers also caused a sharp fall in temperatures across the national capital.
