India, Aug. 14 -- Delhi Metro Independence Day 2026 Advisory: Delhi will switch to a special transport plan on Saturday, August 15, 2026, as the capital hosts the 80th Independence Day celebrations at the Red Fort. With thousands of guests, invitees and members of the public expected to travel towards the venue early in the morning, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) will open metro services much earlier than usual.

The arrangement is designed to provide a convenient public transport option while security measures and traffic restrictions affect several roads around the Red Fort.
