India, July 20 -- The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) temporarily closed several metro stations, including Janpath, Rajiv Chowk, Patel Chowk, Central Secretariat and Seva Teerth, on Monday due to security reasons. The decision came amid heightened security arrangements in central Delhi ahead of a planned protest march towards Parliament. The stations were later reopened in phases, while normal metro services also resumed on the Violet Line after a brief technical issue.
DMRC later issued fresh updates confirming that restrictions were gradually lifted. The interchange facilities and entry gates at Rajiv Chowk and Central Secretariat were reopened first. Shortly afterwards, Seva Teerth Metro Station was also reopened for passengers. A...
