India, June 1 -- A curfew has been imposed within a half-mile radius of the Delaney Hall immigration detention facility in Newark, New Jersey. The measure was introduced by Newark Mayor Ras Baraka and New Jersey Governor Mikie Sherrill after several nights of confrontations between anti-ICE demonstrators and law enforcement officers. Federal authorities have established a secured perimeter around the facility, while the U.S. Department of Homeland Security confirmed that official family visitation services resumed on Sunday, May 31.

Reasons for the Protest
