India, July 31 -- Day 8 of the Commonwealth Games 2026 in Glasgow brought two more medals for India, courtesy of brilliant performances in weightlifting and athletics. Lovepreet Singh narrowly missed out on gold, securing a silver, while Seema Kaliramna added a bronze to India's growing medal count, bringing the overall tally to 17. The day also saw the Tokyo Olympic champion Neeraj Chopra qualify for the final in the men's javelin event, along with Sachin Yadav and Yash Vir Singh.
