India, Aug. 10 -- Registered Democratic and Republican voters across Connecticut head to the polls on Tuesday to choose their party's nominees for governor and a slate of other statewide and legislative offices, in a primary election that has already drawn seven days of early voting and thousands of absentee ballot requests.

There are 18 party primaries taking place this year, including a closely watched Democratic primary for governor. Registered Democratic and Republican voters will head to the polls to determine party candidates for governor, US Congress, and state legislative and constitutional races.
