India, July 25 -- Hollywood filmmaker Chuck Russell, known for directing some of the most popular fantasy, horror and action films of the 1980s and 1990s, has died at the age of 74. The filmmaker passed away on July 22, 2026, at his home in the San Diego area, leaving behind a legacy that includes cult classics like A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors, The Mask, The Blob, Eraser and The Scorpion King.

According to reports, emergency services were called to Russell's residence after authorities received a medical emergency call involving an unconscious man. His attorney later confirmed his death. The official cause of death has not been revealed yet.
