India, June 15 -- The US Supreme Court has refused to hear former Trump campaign advisor Carter Page's lawsuit against former FBI Director James Comey and several former government officials.

The decision effectively will end Carter Page's years-long effort to hold officials personally responsible for surveillance conducted during the FBI's investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 US presidential election.

The ruling comes months after the federal government agreed to pay Carter's Page $1.25 million in a separate settlement related to the surveillance warrants.
