India, Aug. 30 -- Canon appears ready to bring a major upgrade to its compact full-frame mirrorless lineup, with the EOS R8 Mark II reportedly scheduled for an official announcement on September 15, 2026. The new model is expected to retain the lightweight character of the original EOS R8 while addressing one of its biggest limitations: the absence of in-body image stabilisation (IBIS).

The EOS R8 earned attention by combining a 24MP full-frame sensor and strong autofocus performance with a relatively small body. However, its lack of IBIS and short battery life remained notable compromises.
