Canada Chosen as New Headquarters for future NATO-linked financial institution; 'No Better Place for the Bank than Toronto'
India, April 30 -- Canada, on Wednesday, has been chosen as the headquarters for a new financial institution for the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation (NATO) following intense negotiations among the founding countries in Montreal. The decision was reached after three rounds of negotiations hosted by Canada, involving 19 founding countries of the Defence, Security and Resilience Bank (DSRB), at least two sources familiar with the development, who were not permitted to speak publicly about the matter, told the Canadian Press.
All 18 founding members have not been disclosed.
