India, July 17 -- Indian badminton superstar and 2019 BWF World Champion PV Sindhu has marched into the women's singles semifinals at the Japan Open 2026. The two-time Olympic medallist advanced automatically on Friday after her quarterfinal opponent, home favourite Nozomi Okuhara of Japan, pulled out of the match due to an injury.

This comes with a huge achievement for Sindhu, as it is her first appearance in the last four of a Super 750 tournament since the Denmark Open in 2023. Her brilliant run in Tokyo continues a fantastic 2026 season.
