India, July 31 -- Aviation authorities in the United Kingdom have launched a high-priority investigation after a British Airways passenger flight suffered a critical technical failure while descending toward London Heathrow Airport, prompting emergency declarations and severe mid-air manoeuvres, according to a BBC report.

The incident, which took place on July 6, involved Flight BA919 operated by an Airbus A320 travelling from Dusseldorf.
