The drama, which is based on a real-life story, faced the problem of not appealing to the masses during its initial days after it debuted with Kangana Ranaut in the lead. Though the movie's ticket collection improved, its response was lacking, and the figures were not as high as what is typically seen for a big Bollywood film. The movie, for this reason, is still looking for the strong momentum it requires to make a big hit at the domestic box office.
