India, May 29 -- The IPL 2026 has seen another off-field regulation added to the rulebook as the BCCI tightens its monitoring measures. The board has now prohibited the use of smart sunglasses for players and match officials after raising concerns over possible misuse of the technology.

The decision, issued through the BCCI's Anti-Corruption Unit (ACSU), has been shared with all participating teams and support staff. It follows reports that such devices were being promoted and circulated within cricketing circles, prompting the board to act to safeguard the integrity of the tournament.

The BCCI's Anti Corruption and Security Unit has banned the use of any smart goggles or smart sunglasses.
