India, Aug. 22 -- Sunny Deol and Preity Zinta's Batwara 1947 was still playing in theatres on Friday, and it apparently picked up around Rs 75 lakh on Day 8 in India. Now, in its second week, the movie has kept a fairly steady grip at the box office even with other releases coming in at the same time. While the day-wise collections have gone up a little, then down again, the film is still managing to pull in the crowd thanks to its period backdrop, the emotional narration and the acting. The Day 8 figures add another kind of encouragement, as the theatrical run keeps rolling on.
