India, Sept. 26 -- Public sector banks (PSBs) and Regional Rural Banks (RRBs) will function on Sunday, September 27, 2026, despite it being a regular weekly holiday. The decision comes just before a proposed three-day nationwide bank strike scheduled from September 28 to 30.

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has also permitted the opening of bank branches, offices, ATM-linked branches and currency chests on September 27. The additional working day is intended to give customers an opportunity to complete important banking work before the strike.
