India, July 27 -- Bangladesh is preparing for several days of widespread monsoon rain as a deep depression over the Bay of Bengal strengthens weather activity across the country. The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has warned that many districts could receive moderate to very heavy rainfall, accompanied by thunderstorms and gusty winds.

Authorities have also advised maritime ports to remain on alert as rough sea conditions are expected while the weather system moves toward the coast.
