India, June 26 -- KM Chaitanya's Balaramana Dinagalu shows up with big hopes, and honestly, it rides on that connection with the acclaimed Aa Dinagalu. The film is again set in Bangalore's unstable underworld of the 1980s, and it follows Balarama (Vinod Prabhakar), a dependable associate and right hand to MP Jayaraj (Aashish Vidyarthi). From there, things get messy fast; he ends up tangled in brutal clashes with Monappa Rai (Ramesh Indira) and Katthi (Vinay Gowda). At the same time, he's also stumbling into romance with Revathi (Priya Anand), which should sound smoother than it ends up being. Familiar faces, like Shridhar (Atul Kulkarni), also pop up, giving a bit of nostalgia.
