India, Sept. 16 -- Athletics coach Rakesh Kumar has been banned for life by the National Anti-Doping Agency (NADA) in a case involving banned substances. The latest disciplinary update also saw several athletes and a powerlifter come under the spotlight with sanctions ranging from provisional suspensions to a five-year ban.

Most recent cases involve athletics, weightlifting and powerlifting, highlighting the anti-doping body's ongoing efforts to fight the use and distribution of banned substances. Kumar's punishment will take effect from March 2025 when he was first suspended.
