India, Sept. 23 -- India's Mirabai Chanu will return to the Asian Games stage on Wednesday, September 23, with a chance to finally add a continental medal to her impressive career record. The 32-year-old weightlifter will compete in the women's 49kg category in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan, having already won Olympic silver at Tokyo 2020, a world title in 2017 and three Commonwealth Games gold medals. She also completed a hat-trick of Commonwealth Games medals at Glasgow 2026 in July, but the Asian Games remain the one major multi-sport event where she is yet to finish on the podium.
