India, Sept. 25 -- Gulveer Singh heads into the men's 10,000m final at the 2026 Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya as one of India's leading medal hopes. The 28-year-old Army athlete, who won bronze in Hangzhou in 2023, will be looking to move up the podium after an impressive run of results. He delivered a landmark performance at the 2026 Glasgow Commonwealth Games, winning silver in the 10,000m with a time of 27:49.78 before adding bronze in the 5,000m. That double made him the first Indian track athlete to win medals in both events at the same Commonwealth Games. His credentials also include 10,000m gold at the 2025 Asian Athletics Championships in Gumi, South Korea.
