India, Oct. 2 -- Indian hockey has been hit by a major international controversy at the Asian Games 2026 in Japan. International umpire and technical official Gurinder Singh Sangha has been sent back home from Nagoya following multiple allegations of sexual misconduct.
The disciplinary action was triggered after an official complaint from a Malaysian female official and separate complaints from hotel staff in Nagoya.
The incident has sparked widespread outrage, especially given that Sangha had faced similar harassment allegations during the Hockey India League (HIL) last year.
