India, Sept. 21 -- India kicked off its Asian Games 2026 men's badminton team campaign with a whitewash 3-0 victory over Bangladesh in the opening round in Aichi-Nagoya on Monday.

With the tie played in a straight knockout format, India needed three match wins to seal its place in the next round. Lakshya Sen got the team off to a winning start before Ayush Shetty and Kidambi Srikanth completed the clean sweep in the singles rubbers. The scheduled doubles matches featuring Hariharan Amsakarunan-MR Arjun and Satwiksairaj Rankireddy-Chirag Shetty were not required after India secured an unassailable 3-0 lead.
