India, Sept. 1 -- Apple's first foldable iPhone is no longer just a long-running rumour. The company has scheduled its next major iPhone event for September 9, and multiple reports expect a foldable model to join the iPhone 18 Pro lineup. The biggest unanswered question now is what name Apple will put on the box.

iPhone Fold remains the obvious name because it immediately tells consumers what the device does. However, recent reporting has given the iPhone Ultra name much more weight.

Bloomberg's Mark Gurman has said that people inside Apple refer to the upcoming foldable as "Ultra" internally, although that does not guarantee Apple will use the name commercially.
