India, July 26 -- Indian-origin politicians are playing a bigger role in British politics after Prime Minister Andy Burnham's Cabinet reshuffle elevated three Labour MPs to important government positions. Bihar-born Kanishka Narayan has become the UK's first Minister for Artificial Intelligence, while first-time MPs Satvir Kaur and Harpreet Uppal have also secured frontbench roles.

The appointments highlight the growing influence of the Indian diaspora in the UK government and come just two years after all three entered Parliament in the 2024 general election.
