Srinagar, Aug. 9 -- The 38-day-long annual Amarnath Yatra concluded today with the traditional Puja at the holy cave shrine of Baba Barfani* in the Himalayas. The Yatra, which commenced on June 3, witnessed over 4.14 lakh pilgrims from across India taking part in the spiritually significant journey.
Despite intermittent halts due to inclement weather in Kashmir, the Yatra continued smoothly and concluded peacefully, marking a major success for both security and civil administration.
This year's Yatra carried added significance as it was held in the backdrop of the April 22 terror attack in Baisaran Valley, Pahalgam, in which 26 civilians tragically lost their lives. In response, the government implemented unprecedented security measures...
