India, Sept. 30 -- Alexandra Eala begins her bid for another Asian Games tennis medal on Wednesday when the top-seeded Filipino star takes on Chinese Taipei's Joanna Garland in the women's singles quarterfinals at the Higashiyama Park Tennis Center in Nagoya.

Eala made an emphatic start to her campaign on Monday, brushing aside Thailand's Patcharin Cheapchandej 6-1, 6-0 in a rain-affected Round of 16 match. The contest was moved indoors after poor weather disrupted the original schedule, meaning only a small crowd was able to watch Eala's Asian Games debut.
