India, June 27 -- The country witnessed a 6.2-magnitude earthquake on Saturday, which created tremors in various regions of northern India and sparked fears of earthquake activity in the region once again. As reported by the National Center for Seismology (NCS), the tremor took place at 7:04 pm IST at a depth of 215 kilometers and the location of the epicenter was measured as 36.442degN latitude and 70.672degE longitude, in Afghanistan. There were no reports of injuries or property damage yet, but the tremor forced the residents in many cities to run out.
