India, Oct. 10 -- Actor Imran Khan was detained by Mumbai Police on October 10 during a solidarity protest supporting the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP). The protest was organised in support of the party's demand for Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar's resignation over the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls.

Imran's detention comes nearly three months after he joined a CJP led student protest in Mumbai in July. While the earlier demonstration focused on alleged examination irregularities and students' demands for education reforms, the October 10 protest centred on voter list revisions and concerns about the deletion of eligible voters' names.
