India, Sept. 24 -- Paris Saint-Germain and Morocco defender Achraf Hakimi will stand trial on rape charges after France's highest judicial authority dismissed his final appeal on Wednesday.

The Court of Cassation upheld the decision to send the 27-year-old footballer to a criminal court, concluding his last remaining legal effort to prevent a public trial.

Hakimi has consistently denied the allegations, maintaining that he will present evidence to prove his innocence before the court.
