India, July 24 -- Motorists travelling on the A1(M) in North Yorkshire are facing major disruption today after a collision forced the closure of the northbound carriageway. Traffic is currently being held between Junction 46 (Wetherby) and Junction 47 (A59 Knaresborough), with long queues and delays of more than an hour.

National Highways has urged drivers to allow extra travel time as emergency services continue to deal with the incident.
