New York, Oct. 16 -- In a significant ruling this week, the Supreme Court declined to hear a challenge to a 2015 rule that allows spouses of H-1B visa holders to work in the United States, as per a Reuters report. The rule, adopted during former President Barack Obama's administration, permits H-4 visa holders, dependents of H-1B workers in specialty occupations, to obtain work authorization.
The Court refused the petition from Save Jobs USA, a group representing American tech workers who argued that federal immigration law does not allow H-4 visa holders to work while in the US. The Supreme Court provided no explanation for its decision, following its standard practice.
