New Delhi, Aug. 8 -- This year's traditional Independence Day 21-gun salute is set to feature the Indian-made 105mm light field gun, which recently proved its mettle during Operation Sindoor. The 21-gun salute is a traditional military ceremony performed annually on August 15 to honor soldiers.

This year, the ceremony will showcase the might of the indigenous 105mm light field guns. These indigenously made weapons have replaced the British pounder guns that were earlier used for the ceremony.
