US, Oct. 2 -- Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke with US President Donald Trump this week, with the two leaders discussing trade and a range of international issues as the conflict in West Asia continued into its eighth month.

In a post on X, the PM referred to the conversation as "productive" and said both leaders reviewed the bilateral cooperation in trade, defense, energy, critical technologies and other areas.

"We agreed to maintain close engagement to take our Comprehensive Global Strategic Partnership forward. We also exchanged views on regional and international issues, including ongoing efforts to advance global peace and security," PM Modi said.
