JAMMU, Aug. 19 -- Three members of a family were killed and two others injured after an SUV skidded off a hilly road and plunged into a gorge in Reasi district of Jammu and Kashmir late Tuesday night, officials said.
The accident occurred near Panasa village when the driver reportedly lost control of the vehicle while negotiating a curve on the road from Thanole to Thub village.
The deceased were identified as **Prem Singh, 50, his wife Turi Devi, 45, and his mother-in-law Durgi Devi, 70**. Rescuers retrieved their bodies from the wreckage.
Two other passengers managed to jump out of the vehicle before it plunged into the gorge and sustained injuries. They were shifted to a hospital, where their condition was stated to be stable.
