Jammu, Aug. 11 -- Multi-layered arrangements put in place across cities
Jammu Tawi, Aug 10: Security has been tightened across Jammu and Kashmir ahead of Independence Day, with intensified frisking, vehicle checks and surveillance underway in Srinagar and other parts of the Union Territory.
Security forces are checking vehicles and occupants at multiple points across Srinagar, particularly on busy roads and commercial areas, with similar measures in Baramulla, Kupwara, Kulgam and Anantnag.
In Jammu region, checking has been stepped up in Jammu city, Samba, Rajouri and Poonch. Heightened vigilance is also in place along the Srinagar-Jammu National Highway, near the Line of Control and International Border, and in sensitive North Kashmir a...
