SRINAGAR, Aug. 21 -- The Special Crime Wing (SCW), Kashmir, of the Crime Branch J&K, on Thursday conducted a search at a residential premises in Safakadal, Srinagar, as part of an ongoing investigation into alleged forgery of date-of-birth and educational qualification documents used for appointment in the J&K Police Department.
Officials said the search was conducted in compliance with a warrant issued by the Court of Special Mobile Magistrate (PT&E), Srinagar.
The investigation pertains to Case FIR No. 10/2026 registered by the SCW under Sections 420, 468 and 471 RPC in connection with allegations of cheating, forgery and use of forged documents.
