India, March 4 -- February 2026 has emerged as one of the driest months on record across Jammu and Kashmir, with several meteorological stations reporting either their lowest-ever rainfall or figures close to historic lows, according to data.

According to independent weatherman Faizan Arif of Kashmir Weather, Srinagar recorded only 5.3 mm rainfall during February.

With data available since 1901, this is the lowest February rainfall since 1960, when 5.8 mm was registered, placing this year among the driest Februaries in over a century for the summer capital.
