Jammu Tawi, June 7 -- The Northern Railway's Jammu division has upgraded major infrastructure by commissioning an advanced electronic interlocking (EI) system at Bajalta station on the Jammu Tawi-Udhampur section to enhance passenger safety and ensure smoother train operations, officials said on Saturday.

Officials said due to the ongoing work, four trains have been cancelled, and six are running late.

The project also includes integration of the railway siding being developed for BPCL, IOCL and HPCL's common user facility (CUF) at Bajalta, they said.

"In connection with the work, a pre-non-interlocking and non-interlocking block will remain in force from June 7 to June 11," they said.
