JAMMU, April 18 -- The local administration on Saturday demolished the residential property of an alleged drug peddler in Jammu as part of an intensified crackdown on narcotics, officials said.
The action was carried out in Belicharana under heavy security deployment, where a joint team of civil administration and police used bulldozers to raze the property owned by Shamsdin alias Pappi.
Officials said that, in addition to demolishing the house, adjoining grass huts were removed and a few two-wheelers were seized from the premises.
The demolition is part of the ongoing 100-day anti-drug campaign launched by Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on April 11 to curb drug trafficking and dismantle financial networks linked to the illegal trade....
