Srinagar, July 24 -- The Privilege Committee of the Jammu & Kashmir Legislative Assembly has directed MLA Waheed-ur-Rehman Parra to appear before it on Friday to discuss and examine a breach of privilege case against him over remarks alleging that the Assembly Secretariat had endorsed the PSA detention of MLA Mehraj Malik.

The committee, headed by Justice (Retd.) Hasnain Masoodi has asked the legislator to appear before it tomorrow.

On September 8, 2025, Mehraj Malik was detained under the Public Safety Act (PSA). Shortly after his detention, the Assembly Secretariat released a bulletin informing MLAs about Malik's detention.
